SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME
The scientific programme of the congress will include the following educational opportunities:
•Congress Sessions based on lectures covering a wide variety of topics in ultrasonography, including new developments and clinical applications in ultrasound, controversial aspects of the current practice in sonography.
•Scientific sessions where one will be able to learn about the latest research and discoveries in ultrasound.
•Scientific poster session where the latest research in sonography will be presented in a pleasant visual form.
• Meet the expert workshops where the participants will be able to debate ultrasound topics with the experts.
•Satellite symposia held under the sponsorship of the main ultrasound industries.
•Specialist postgraduate courses aimed to improve the ultrasound professionalism of physicians already performing basic ultrasonography. All courses are structured with a maximum number of participants.
CME (Continuing Medical Education)
National application for CME credits will be made for the Congress and for the postgraduate courses.
According to the CME Commission rules, credits will be assigned to participants attending the whole scientific sessions. Only short absences will be admitted. Therefore, the participants registered to parallel courses will receive credits only for one fully attended. CME Credits will be assigned only upon delivery of the relevant completed documents (evaluation forms, questionnaires).
European application will be made to obtain CME Credits for the Congress and the postgraduate courses held in English.
The number of the assigned credits to each event will be published on the Congress website, (www.euroson2008.ro)
YOUNG INVESTIGATOR'S AWARD
The EUROSON Young Investigator's Award is considered for the work in the field of clinical and/or basic research. The award is available for an original paper (not pre-published) presented at Euroson 2008.
Applicants must be under 35 years of age. They are nominated by their National Society and must not have previously won the Award. All applications must meet the dead line for the submission of the abstracts.
The Award will be presented at the end of the Congress by the President of EFSUMB.
