Radiologically and clinically relevant problem in trauma imaging of the knee is the choice of available modality. Ultrasound is a powerful diagnostic tool for imaging evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders. There is an increased demand for expanding clinical applications of musculoskeletal sonography worldwide due to improving technology and widespread availability and cost constraints .


Management update review of ultrasound of knee trauma focused on anatomy, indications, technique, findings, and cases, with particular attention to knee menisci and tendons, and research data results correlation from other centers ultrasound experience with comparison to magnetic resonance imaging and arthroscopy.


Musculoskeletal sonography has a potentially valuable role in the diagnosis and management of numerous conditions particularly in trauma applications.
